BAFTA, 190-195, Piccadilly, London. (William Verry(FM) Ltd) This building is probably better known for the many award ceremonies it hosts each year for the television and film industries. Unfortunately time had taken its toll on the main roof structure with its large skylights, and with the ever increasing water ingress it was time for a complete new roof covering and replacement of the skylights. The project included providing a water tight temporary roof spanning 25.0m from front to back using a lightweight temporary roofing system for ease of handling over the large areas of glass, as installation by crane was not an option due to the position of the building in London’s busy west end. Added to this was the requirement that the building still had to host numerous ceremonies, so shutting down was not an option.
This once again became a challenge to Access Solutions Scaffolding that with careful planning was carried out on programme, and to the standards excepted of such an important project.

All Saints Church, Dulwich, London. (Killby & Gayford Ltd) Originally constructed as a cathedral, All Saints Church was ravaged by a serious fire that completely destroyed the main roof. After remaining open to the elements for a considerable length of time, the decision was taken to rebuild. Indeed the project would require the largest lead roof to be constructed in the U.K. in over 25 years. Access Solutions Scaffolding provided many bespoke scaffolds to the series of adjoining roofs that allowed the new heavy lead works to be undertaken whilst not transfering any undue forces onto the new roof structure. One such scaffold was constructed in such a manner that it was movable to different areas of the main pitched roof by way of the tower crane, saving a considerable sum when costed against erecting the whole scaffold at once.
